Welcome to Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust
Induction is a time for you to settle in to your new job and get to know your team and the trust. It is very important that you feel welcome and valued. Whether you are working directly with patients or not, everyone helps the trust to provide safe, high quality patient care, and that is the vital part of all our work.

During induction you will find out more about the Trust. This is an important part of getting to know the Trust, but it is equally important for the Trust to get to know you and share our values with you.

It is also important that you have the opportunity to develop your career at Southport & Ormskirk and that you want to stay with us. There are many services in place to help you do this from in-house training to health & well-being services.

Corporate induction pack

Our Corporate Induction is currently postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. You will receive a pack through the post with a bunch of information to settle you in.

Please ensure that you complete your online mandatory training within the first 4 weeks of starting

Local induction

As soon as you join your department you will have a local induction with your line manager. This covers:
  • local and trust-wide policies and procedures relating to your role and the department in which you work
  • an introduction to your area of work
  • time to meet your new colleagues
  • opportunity to get your questions answered
  • How to manage and reduce risk
