The campaign is aimed at employers, to help them deal with the large-scale problem that is domestic violence. As it stands, organisations can do more to aid their employees who are affected by domestic violence, train those who witness it and to protect staff as a whole. You can join the campaign by using the hashtag #16DAYSOFACTION and signing the pledge on the Public Health England website.
One in four women and one in six men are affected by domestic violence in their adult lifetime, and 75 per cent of people who are victims of domestic violence are targeted at work. Public Health England and the Corporate Alliance against Domestic Violence have created a toolkit to support employers tackle domestic violence and protect their staff. You can access the toolkit from the Public Health England website and find out more information about domestic violence and how it affects the workplace from our health and wellbeing webpages.
