![]() The NHS constantly needs to attract people with the right skills and values to fill the many vacancies and roles it supports. In order to do this we need to help people making career choices and job decisions to understand what working in healthcare is really like and the opportunities available in the NHS. Talking honestly and enthusiastically about your job role can make a real difference for those thinking about working for the NHS. This guide will give you a brief outline of the role of an NHS Careers Ambassador and hopefully help you to decide whether it’s a role you would like to take on. NHS Careers Ambassadors act as a role model to young people, offering them the chance to find out as much as possible about jobs and professions in the NHS and particularly the role that they play in providing excellent patient care. Mediation offers an alternative process (not instead) to conflict resolution, allowing parties to resolve problems and let go of their sense of grievance and mend broken relationships. Mediation Skills Training is a 4 day programme which will cover the entire mediation process from first contact with the first party to closure and review. It aims to give participants a solid foundation in fundamental Mediation Skills, such as active listening, impartiality, rapport building with disputants, managing conflict and facilitating negotiation. It aims to develop an understanding of mediators own responses to conflict, so that they can manage their own feelings and assumptions and interact constructively with disputants. Friday 6th July, 2018 9:00 - 16:00 Manchester For more information and to book on, please visit our website Leading with Moral Purpose At the heart of leadership is the focus on the service-user. Historically, a ‘pace setting’ leadership style has been prevalent within the NHS, that focused on targets and delivery rather than engaging both staff and patients. There is now a recognised need for leaders who will work with compassion and a strong sense of moral purpose. This module will provide insight into what it means to lead with compassion in the NHS. It will look at how current policies inform the healthcare landscape, focusing on the need for a passionate commitment to do the ‘right things at the right time' for service users.
