In addition to the online survey and discussion (see links opposite), please contribute your thoughts and views on Talent Management as part of our Twitter Chat in May.

Your input will build our understanding of talent management and the conditions needed for good practice to thrive, and help shape our future talent offer.

Primary Care
As part of the national NHS agenda to reduce pressures on secondary and acute NHS services and deliver care closer to home, Primary Care has been identified as a national priority for leadership development. Look out for new offers over the coming months.
If you would like more information about our work in Primary Care please contact Kay Worsley-Cox nwla.info@nhs.net

System OD Collaboration Workshop
Following the success of our System OD Collaboration workshops for the Cheshire & Merseyside and Lancashire & South Cumbria footprints earlier this year, we are now holding two 90 day follow up workshops to build and expand on these earlier sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity for each footprint to come together to collaborate for impact and innovation.
The sessions will benefit from having a wide and diverse audience. With this in mind we’d like to invite you to share this opportunity with your colleagues, both within the NHS and broader public services, and invite them to attend and contribute to the day

Aspiring Chief Executive programme
The role of the chief executive in health care has never been more important. How we appoint to such posts – and help our chief executives to be successful ‘in role’ – is one of the NHS’s most important leadership challenges. As the health system evolves and new models of care emerge, chief executives who can successfully lead provider organisations and collaborate in the transformation of care are key.

The Director of Nursing and Midwifery Talent Programme
A second cohort of The Director of Nursing Talent Programme is commencing in the North region.

The scheme is delivered by NHS England, NHSI and HEE. It aims to help participants explore:

  • career aspirations;
  • where they are now and development needs;
  • aspirations within the Director of Nursing talent pipeline;
The cost of attendance on this talent scheme will be funded at a national level. However, there is a requirement for any travel or overnight accommodation to be funded by the individual or individual organisation.

Masterclass – Seeing Things Differently
Working in collaboration with our partners, the first in a series of Masterclasses for 2018/19 will provide system-wide leaders exposure to the latest thinking and help develop their skillsets. We are pleased to introduce, as our key note speaker, Jeremy Scrivens, Director of the Economy at Work, and a global thought leader.
Friday 6th July, 2018
9:00 - 16:00
Manchester
For more information and to book on, please visit our website

Leading with Moral Purpose
At the heart of leadership is the focus on the service-user. Historically,  a ‘pace setting’ leadership style has been prevalent within the NHS, that focused on targets and delivery rather than engaging both staff and patients. There is now a recognised need for leaders who will work with compassion and a strong sense of moral purpose. This module will provide insight into what it means to lead with compassion in the NHS. It will look at how current policies inform the healthcare landscape, focusing on the need for a passionate commitment to do the ‘right things at the right time' for service users.
Tuesday 10th July 2018
09:00 - 17:00
Cheshire
