The NHS North West Leadership Academy is celebrating 10 years of OD this month. It is an exciting time for OD, with a move towards system wide working.
OD is the system-wide application and transfer of behavioural science knowledge to the planned development, improvement, and reinforcement of the strategies, structures, and processes that lead to organisational effectiveness. In the NHS, the purpose of OD is to improve the quality and safety of patient care and as an enabler, for people, to transform systems.
There are lots of excellent examples of OD activity in the North West, however this month’s blog, from John Herring, Strategic Lead for OD, focuses on the devolution of the health and social care system in Greater Manchester and the impact this is having on OD.
We have shared some interesting links to OD focussed Podcasts and YouTube videos as well as the NHS North West Leadership Academy OD toolkit, aimed at OD practitioners. If you have any OD stories you wish to share with our system, please do tweet our Twitter handle @nhsnwla using #PROUDx10.
