Welcome to our monthly enewsletter, providing you with all the latest information, offers and events:

Collaborative Masterclass - People Powered Health and Social Care
What does it look like and how can you create a culture that enables it?
A masterclass that is about true participation. Learn more about people powered health and social care and what that means for your leadership role as you lead services that enable patient and public participation. Participants welcomed who work together across a place based system so they can learn together throughout the masterclass and take the ideas back to their place of work.

Building on the masterclass in July, this event will translate the New Power ideas from the work of Jeremy Heimans and demonstrate how health and care is changing. Power is often understood as a zero sum game. But some of the best innovations in health, care and wellbeing are creating a new form of power. Power that motivates and mobilises both citizens and staff. Power that connects citizens with the health, care, community and voluntary sectors to find new ways to support people to be healthy and happy. Come and hear how it can be done.

Development Module | Handling Challenging Conversations
With the current changes in the health and social care landscape it is now more important than ever to build effective working relationships with all different styles of individuals and address things that might prevent that.
At the heart of these relationships are conversations; some of which can feel challenging and uncomfortable. In these situations we may at times need to adopt styles or approaches which might not come naturally to us. This module involves applying sound psychological theory and practices to make a real difference in personal performance in challenging communications.

09:00 - 17:00
Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel

This module is part of our Aspirant Talent programme, however we are delighted to offer places on this next session to aspiring leaders working in sub-board and sub-governing body roles in our member organisations

Compassionate Leadership Coaching Programme
Developing Self-Compassion and Shaping Your Culture
Following on from the success and positive feedback of our previous cohorts of the Compassionate Leadership Coaching Programme, the NHS North West Leadership Academy is delighted to confirm a new Autumn 2019 cohort running from September 2019.
This distinctive coaching programme will enable those responsible for leading in organisations and/or across their system and locality, to acknowledge and respond to their own need for compassion and therefore allow them the opportunity to more fully engage, support and influence colleagues and staff in their delivery of compassionate care to citizens and communities.
This 8 week programme is a unique opportunity for senior leaders working in the complex and changing landscape of health and care, to work with a chartered occupational psychologist to explore self-compassion through a group coaching relationship and webinars.

Executive Coaching Support Offer
As part of our 2019/20 Coaching and Mentoring offer for our NHS North West Leadership Academy (NHS NWLA) members we are offering Executive Coaching Support access from quality assured coaches on our dedicated Coaching Hub or for professional coaching relationships that may be already underway.
We are aware of the many changes facing our most senior leaders and want to offer support and some head space; to allow them to explore the additional opportunities and challenges these changes bring. Through conversations with our board and governing body colleagues, the NHS NWLA understands the complex and changing environment within which our senior leaders are currently operating.  In a recent survey to executive level colleagues, the NHS NWLA found that one to one support such as coaching, can be a useful opportunity to senior leaders offering a focused and confidential developmental space.
