Following the success of our last Top Thinkers Masterclass with the team from the Alaskan South Central Foundation, and their “Nuka” health and well-being system, we are excited to announce our next Top Thinkers Masterclass due to take place on 8th March 2017 at Leyland Hotel, Preston.
“Instead of asking how you or your organisation can create more value to/for or with community; ask how you can create more space for community to create what they value” – Cormac Russell.
Continuing on the theme of collaborative working with communities, the redistribution of power and reallocating authority within our health and social care system, we are delighted to bring to you at this masterclass, two experts from the related fields of social leadership and Asset Based Community Development, Julian Stodd and Cormac Russell.
This masterclass will explore the era of the “social age” and the importance of social and collaborative leadership, focusing on Asset Based Community Development and how to utilise this in practice within the system. Julian and Cormac will interactively explore the importance of social authority, types of communities and their behaviours bringing both theoretical and practical applications on how to take this forward.
“In the Social Age, our organisations need to adapt…to become more Socially Dynamic: connected, adapted, agile” - Julian Stodd
The session will also focus on how to move from a deficit orientated environment to an asset-based community, how to develop assets, whilst acknowledging critical issues within an organisation and getting beyond its own agenda, questioning how we can create the space for communities to add value.
This will be an exploratory day, with a chance to hear new ideas, to share your knowledge and experience, and to consider how you can be part of the change.
