GoToJobBoard, a non-medical NHS job board, are encouraging friends, family members and colleagues to nominate any NHS non-medical employees who they believe go above and beyond when caring for patients and helping their fellow colleagues.
Non-medical staff make-up 49% of the NHS workforce 49% of the NHS’s workforce consists of non-medical staff working in roles like healthcare assistants, HR managers, porters, cleaners and IT consultants.
Too often the hard work of the non-medical NHS staff is overlooked and unnoticed on a patient’s journey to full recovery. That’s where the Unsung Hero Awards come in – to give recognition to those who deserve it.
Glamorous awards ceremony – All the finalists chosen for the award will be invited to a glamorous ceremony at The Place Hotel in Manchester City Centre on 3rd February. The event is set to be a fabulous celebration of all the hard work of the NHS non-medical staff, with entertainment, guest speakers and the much-anticipated winners announcement.

Rehanah Sadiq, Senior Muslim Chaplain at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, who was nominated for supporting patients through their most challenging moments. James Long, Facilities and Patients Manager at St Pancras Hospital, nominated for his work in improving the day-to-day lives of patients with serious illnesses.
Nominate your Unsung Hero So, if you’ve had the pleasure of working with a wonderful IT consultant, become friendly with a cheery cleaner or noticed the commitment of a GP receptionist, why not nominate them for an Unsung Hero award?
The process is simple, and anyone can nominate an NHS non-medical staff member who they believe deserves recognition for their hard work. Sectors can include: Admin & Clerical, Senior Management, Medical Secretaries, Legal Services, Library Services, Clinical Coding, Finance, IT, Project Management, HR, PR & Communications, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, Sales, Procurement, Estates, Hotel Services, Catering, Drivers, Stores and Security.
